Students Return to Onsite Learning on January 4, 2021

The Council Bluffs Schools shifted to the Onsite Phase of our Return to Learn Plan on January 4, 2021. In this phase, students who are not enrolled in the Virtual Academy attend school five days per week, rather than 2-3 days per week in the Hybrid Phase. Mondays will continue to be early release days for students.

District officials will continue to closely monitor and analyze key data points related to COVID-19 county positivity rates as well as staff and student positive cases, and the absenteeism related to COVID-19.

According to Superintendent Dr. Vickie Murillo, all staff members will be continue to be diligent about encouraging that the layers of health and safety protocols are followed, including the wearing of masks, social distancing as much as possible, and regular cleaning and sanitizing.  The District will also continue to require students and staff members to remain at home if they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or are experiencing symptoms consistent with the virus. These steps have proven to be effective in virtually eliminating the spread of the virus in our school buildings.
