Board of Education Meeting on March 24 at 6:30 pm to be Held Electronically; Public may View and Participate
Council Bluffs Community School District Board of Education President David Coziahr has directed that all Council Bluffs Community School District Board of Directors meetings be conducted electronically until further notice. This action is being taken to help reduce the possible transmission of infectious disease and to ensure that cases of COVID-19 are properly controlled and treated.
According to Coziahr, in order to fulfill the board’s responsibility to conduct Board meetings as open meetings accessible to the public, the school district is making available to the public opportunities to view and participate by telephone or other electronic means, or by providing written comments by email to cto@cbcsd.org.
Those interested in viewing the meeting may access it on the school district’s YouTube channel or through this Google livestream link. Those who wish to listen by telephone will be able to call 240-803-2884, and enter the pin 521 364 560#.
Those who would like to address the Board during the Public Participation agenda item may do so either in advance or during the electronic meeting. Those who notify the Board in advance may speak up to five minutes; those who request to address the Board during the meeting may speak up to three minutes.
Those who would like to address the Board through a weblink are asked to send an email in advance to cto@cbcsd.org, and a weblink to participate will be provided. This option will also be available in person for those who prefer to go to the District’s Educational Service Center, 300 W. Broadway, Suite 160, prior to the 6:30 pm meeting to use a school district computer to access the meeting. Another option is to address the Board by telephone by calling the number above and entering the pin.
“Be assured, that while these measures may seem extreme, the Board of Directors for the Council Bluffs Community School District continues to serve the students, the families and the communities of Council Bluffs, Carter Lake and Crescent, Iowa in safe and healthy environments where Everyone Achieves More,” Coziahr said.
