PASSAGES: The mission is to help high school students with behavioral/emotional conditions who have been unable to maintain traditional school placement. This is done through a combination of behavioral support and personalized learning instruction. Our goal is for each student to successfully transition to a less restrictive placement. These students have an IEP/ and or 504 plan. Instructor: Todd Johnson
MIDDLE SCHOOL TRANSITION (MST): The goal is to provide an environment in which students at Wilson Middle School and Kirn Middle School can develop the skills needed to transition and remain in the traditional school setting. In addition to academics, there will be a focus on teaching social and emotional skills to include coping strategies. These students may have an IEP or 504 plan. Instructor: Erin Burns
HIGH SCHOOL TRANSITIONS is for students that have short-term transition needs, up to 60 days. They will be provided support to successfully move back to their home school. Students coming from outside placement, possibly awaiting placement, needing skill development behaviorally, socially, or emotionally would be provided academic and social-emotional support in a therapeutic setting. The program will serve 9-12 graders with an emphasis on 9-10. Instructor: Matt Twit
ELEMENTARY TRANSITIONS at KANESVILLE is a partnership between Council Bluffs Community Schools and CHI Health Mercy Hospital. This program is a 60-day program that serves students in grades K-5 who are enrolled in the Council Bluffs Community School District and who are struggling to achieve behavioral success in their home-school classroom settings.
