The Council Bluffs Community School District announces an adjustment to the dismissal time for students for the rest of the school year.
Beginning Monday, April 7th, school will dismiss 10 minutes later each day to make up for the lost instructional time on the most recent snow day of March 19th. This addition of 10 minutes per day was determined to be the preferred option by 75% of district staff members instead of adding a school day on Monday, June 2nd.

The extended school day will continue through the end of the school year on Friday, May 30th. All school bussing, after-school clubs and all practices will start upon dismissal and then end 10 minutes later each day.
We understand that this will require an adjustment, and trust that you will be able to make this change in your family’s schedule.
As additional background information, severe weather caused in-person school to be cancelled seven times this year, more often than a typical school year. In response, we used the five allocated remote learning days and two traditional snow days. The addition of 10 minutes to each school day will allow us to meet the state’s required number of instructional hours for this school year.
