Middle School College & Career Exploratory Labs

In the Council Bluffs Community School District, all students have the opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma AND a second credential in the form of an industry-recognized certificate or a college diploma or associates degree.  The foundation is set in elementary school as students are exposed to different careers.  In Middle School, we are proud to provide more in-depth EXPLORATION so that students may begin to find all of their interests and potential path forward in high school.

In the College and Career Exploration Laboratory, middle school students experience 14 different college and trades-based careers. Students work with a partner to complete different modules that focus on careers in a 3-week rotation. During this time, students are introduced into careers with every-day terminology used in that field, hands-on, relevant activities and finish with a Design Brief to showcase what they learned.  Watch our video to see the labs in action!
