The Council Bluffs Community School District creates pathways for students starting in the middle school years.  Here, they incorporate International Baccalaureate (IB) designs in courses that develop skills in technology and communications, along with career exploration.

At the high school level, programs in five of the six Career and Technical Education Service Areas are offered.  These areas include Arts, Communications, and Information Systems;  Applied Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing;  Health Sciences;  Human Services;  and Business, Finance, Marketing, and Management. These courses are offered at both high schools and on the campus of Iowa Western Community College. Students can obtain college credit through many of the courses. Career and Technical at both high schools Education courses use real-world application to focus on academic, employability and technical skills. The goal of the district is to make students future ready at all levels.
