Superintendent Search

The Council Bluffs Board of Education has begun the process to select a new superintendent of schools, following the announcement by current Superintendent Dr. Vickie Murillo that she is taking a new position in Missouri after nine years in Council Bluffs.  She will remain with the district through June 30, 2026.

The Board has hired the firm Ray and Associates to conduct a search for candidates to fill the position, first for a one-year interim role to begin in June of 2026, and then to conduct the national search for the permanent candidate.  The process will include community input opportunities.
