    Congratulations to the following Deca students who competed at District Competition on Wednesday; here are the results:

    Abbie Olson 1st place in Food Marketing, Sabrina Fienhold 1st place in Automotive Service marketing, Karlee Koester and Harper Snead 3rd place in Sports and Entertainment Marketing team, Kelsey Wathen 6th in Apparel Marketing, Ashlyn Holt and Brooke Wohlers 7th in Tour and Travel Marketing team, Cameron Vanderwerf and Arlette Milstead 8th in Hospitality Marketing Team, River Petry 7th in Restaurant Management, Korben Lamere and Thomas Muhlbauer Honorable Mention in Sports Marketing Team, and Daniel Fitch and Carter James, Honorable Mention in Tour & Travel Marketing Team. Great job at our first competition!

     

    Do you enjoy writing skits, movies or plays? Have you written a script that you would like to see performed? Mr. Mandelko will be having a short, informational meeting about the "Upperclass Acts" One Act PLay Showcase. Upperclass Acts allows Junior or Senior students to write, cast and direct their own original plays right here on the AL stage! The meeting will be in the Auditorium on Tuesday, November 26th at 3:20. If you are interested of writing and submitting a play...please come to the meeting.     Congrats to Jared Kaufman and Jennifer Harriman for being winners for the "Kindness Roccks" this week. See Mrs. Steinmetz for prize. Jared Kaufman was caught bringing bagels to other students in the morning to brighten their day. Jennifer Harriman was caught by Mr. Lau for returning a dollar he dropped on the ground. Way to go Lynx! Keep spreading Kindness! Remember to drop in nominations in the boxes in the main office or A124. Teachers, Staff, and Students can all participate! 

     

    Students: The school breakfast hours will be changing on Monday to 7:20am-7:50am. Breakfast will not be served after the 7:50am bell.

    Anyone interested in participating in Large Group or Individual Speech there will be a formal meeting on today in Mrs. Abbotts room after school and Tuesday, November 12th after school in Mr. Waller's Room after school. Students that are interested in participating need to attend one of the meetings.

Monday is PJ day, Tuesday is Spirit day to support the volleyball players, Wednesday is 'yee Haw" day--dress like a cowboy, Thursday is "frat boy" day--get that preppie gear out, and Friday is a day to dress like someone in your future career--doctor, lawyer, farmer, nurse, teacher. Hope you all have fun with Deca Week!

    Lynx Nation: The 1st State Volleyball Fan bus is full. The 2nd is close, first come, first serve for the remaining seats. Permission slips are due today at 1pm. The cost will be $15 for each student who rides, due anytime before the end of school on Monday. Also, please read your permission slip carefully..... Ticket price is seperate and on your own thru TicketMaster or at the game Tuesday... So total cost is $25 plus food money if you are riding the bus!!! There will be bus lists posted by the end of the day today on the windows in the front office on bus assignments. If you want to switch buses, you must find another student on the other bus and agree to switch and contact Mr Novotny about the switch before the end of the school day Monday.

    "All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players", but on Abraham Lincoln High School's stage AL Drama will be presenting "The Best of the Bard", a collection of Shakespeare's greatest scenes and sonnets. Showtimes are Thursday, November 7th; Friday, November 8th & Saturday, November 9th. All show times are at 7 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door, and are $7 for adults and $5 for students. 

     

    Latinos United will be having another sale this Friday November 8 during all lunch periods they will be selling Mexican Fresas con Crema ( Mexican Strawberries and Cream) Also whoever supports by purchasing will be put into a Drawing for a ALHS Shirt.

     

    Lynx Nation: State Volleyball Fan buses are filling up. Remember, permission slips are due on Friday at 1pm. First come first serve for spots on the buses. The cost of the bus will be determined once we know how many buses and students are going. It will be significantly lower than the $35 per seat the bus costs.

    Student council is planning a Halloween costume drive for local elementary students who are unable to afford them. Please bring gently used Halloween costumes to your REAL time class from October 22nd through the 30th. For each costume brought you will be given a raffle ticket. The winner of the raffle will earn a pizza party for their entire REAL time! For more information, please talk to student council members.

     

    Students interested in taking spring courses on campus at IWCC or online through IWCC, please see your counselor. IWCC has posted it's spring course catalog.
