Wilson Clubs in Full Swing!

The year is off to a fabulous start!  Middle school students are having fun in engaging STEM-related after-school clubs. Creating an atmosphere of career and college awareness is crucial at this level to promote higher learning goals for high school, and eventually college.

Wilson’s Cyber Patriot Club members are learning all about cyber security. They are learning how to establish better technology security and how to deal with security when it is compromised. These smart students are preparing for jobs of the future!

Lego League Club will be gearing up for competition time again this year. Right now the challenge is to sort and identify the parts!

 Students in Musicology Club learn about the history of music and the vast number of careers in the music industry. The HIFI house (opening soon in Omaha) is our newest music partner. We look forward to a special school presentation and a field trip to their facility. Vinyl is back, we hear!

Wi Tech club is meeting on Thursday mornings in the library. Students are learning how to be tech leaders at Wilson, assisting with the Chrome computers and learning how to troubleshoot problems. These students learned how to take a Chrome apart and put it back together again!

 TRIO Talent Search if a free program to students who qualify. It is funded by the US Department of Education. The goal is to provide students with FREE programs and resources to help students successfully graduate form high school and enroll in college. Career and college awareness opportunities (after-school clubs, field trips, STEM programs & more!) are offered at Wilson Middle School.   Career and college readiness experiences (ACT, homework help, scholarship & financial aid assistance, college visits & more!) are offered at Thomas Jefferson High School.
