Student getting banking assistance

Student bank customers Neveah Brodersen and Delaney Rosenberg get their banking questions answered.

Today was opening day for the Hoover Branch of US Bank!   Students were greeted by this year’s tellers who answered questions, helped open accounts and assisted with deposits.  Student Tellers are required to apply, interview, and if selected, train for their position.  It is a valuable learning and leadership opportunity.  For their customers, they have the opportunity to learn how banking works and how saving a little money each week can add up!  Additionally, student savers can earn prizes when reaching account milestones.   Parent permission is needed to open an account and only parents can withdraw funds until their student reaches 5th Grade.  At the end of 5th Grade, a ceremony is held to acknowledge and celebrate their savings accomplishments and each participate receives a check for their balance.  Student banking will be every Friday this year at Hoover.
