New Way to Pay for School Meals

myschoolbucks logo circleWe are introducing a new way to pay for school meals with My School Bucks! The first step parents need to take is to register your child for a free account. You can then access your account balance, set up automatic payments, schedule email reminders, and download the free app for use with your smartphone! Parents can still access the “old” system to check your account balance and pay for meals.  However, we would like to encourage parents to start using My School Bucks to become familiar with the new system. Open this story and click on the image or this link to be connected.

TJ Choir Kicks Off the New Year at Edison Elementary!

The Thomas Jefferson Choir came to Edison to open the school year with an assembly. The assembly was arranged to celebrate the beginning of the year and to focus on the theme “Change For Good”.  The TJ Choir began with an a cappella version of Kum By Yah (in African style) to get on the risers and went directly into singing “Wanting Memories”.  Travis Walker, the choir teacher, talked a little about the music program and all the different activities they have to offer at TJ.  He discussed how important it was to get involved in your school and to be active.  They showed the students all the different activities that the TJ students were involved with by having them raise their hands when an activity or sport they are involved with was mentioned.  Then they sang the title song, “For Good,”  featuring two Edison Alumni: Brianna Clapper, and Cori Bergantzel.  At the conclusion Mr. Walker talked about the meaning of the song and making a change for good.  He talked about his pride in the west-end and his history with Edison, including his mother and uncle working there in the past and his sister currently working there.  They concluded with the audience affirming that they will be active in school and make a change for good.
