New Way to Pay for School Meals

myschoolbucks logo circleWe are introducing a new way to pay for school meals with My School Bucks! The first step parents need to take is to register your child for a free account. You can then access your account balance, set up automatic payments, schedule email reminders, and download the free app for use with your smartphone! Parents can still access the “old” system to check your account balance and pay for meals.  However, we would like to encourage parents to start using My School Bucks to become familiar with the new system. Open this story and click on the image or this link to be connected.

Traffic Flow Procedures

Student safety is always our highest priority and we ask parents, community members, guardians, and students to follow the proper traffic procedures.  On the east side of the building, there is one entrance into the drive through and one entrance out of the drive through.  All vehicles must enter on the north side of the drive through where the “entrance” sign is located. All vehicles must exit on the south side of the drive through.

The east side of the school is also designated for preschool drop off and parents who transport their child to and from school.  We also accommodate a few buses on the east side that transport students to our Therapeutic program.   Therefore, you will see “bus parking” signs along the yellow curb towards the north side of the drive through.   Please do not park in this area, so buses can get in and out as quickly as possible.  Preschool parents have little children they must sign in and out each day and are encouraged to park along the curb next to the preschool doors or in the visitors parking stalls.

The over flow parking lot is located south of the school where you can walk up and meet your child at dismissal time or find a designated spot where you agree to meet at dismissal.

In addition, here are some simple safety rules to keep in  mind when dropping off or picking up your child:

  • Slow down
  • Be alert
  • Be patient
  • Cross at the crosswalk
  • Stop the car completely when loading/unloading
  • Stay off cell phones while vehicles are moving at dismissal

Thank you for your support , we truly need your help in making sure our students arrive and depart from school safely.

CV Garden Beds

“A garden requires patient labor and attention. Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions. They thrive because someone expended effort on them.”–Liberty Hyde Bailey

Boy Scout, Thomas Cruse designed and built the garden beds as a project to earn his Eagle Badge. It was remarkable to watch how it all came together.  Thank you, Thomas!

The staff and students at CV planted seeds in the spring and continued to care for them over the summer.  What a beautiful testimonial by students and staff to the attributes of the IB learner profile as this set of dispositions continue outside the school day.
