  Superintendent Vickie Murillo, Ed D                            712-328-6418

Dr. Murillo joined the Council Bluffs Schools on July 1, 2017. She most recently served as the Chief Academic and Accountability Officer at Kansas City (Missouri) Public Schools, a district with 14,500 students. In this role, she had supervision and budgetary responsibility for curriculum, instruction and professional development in the educational departments of: assessment, adult education and literacy, early learning, exceptional education, career and technical education, guidance and counseling, federal programs, language services, students in transition, early college academy, athletics, and grants. Prior to becoming the chief academic and accountability officer, Murillo worked at all levels in education, from teacher and instructional coach to principal at the elementary and secondary levels.

Dr. Murillo received her Doctorate of Education in Education Leadership from Baker University, her master’s degree at University of Missouri, Kansas City, and her Bachelor of Education degree at Evangel University.
